Shafodrag subspecies
According to the plan of their creators, the shafodrags were supposed to become widespread everywhere - on land, in water and in the air. However, the invasion of the enemies did not allow this idea to be fully revealed. Therefore, there are only five subspecies of shafodrags:
Terrestrial
Common traits:
- Puffy neck fur
- Size of the paws webbing - on the first phalanx of the fingers
- The skin is colored in warm and/or light colors more often
- Males have a broader physique
North subspecies
North shafodrags - huge mountains of fur, flesh and power. "There can never be too much of a good person," says one saying, and these inhabitants of the northern wastelands correspond to it - 2.5-3 meters of good-naturedness and severity. Their color is predominantly white and blue shades, in order to better disguise themselves among the blocks of ice. They are one of the strongest representatives of their kind, capable of lifting from 5 tons without the use of reinforcements. Due to the very extreme conditions, they had to adapt - their cells produce heat more efficiently, and there are also heat generator cells located in the cavities of the bones, especially abundantly in the area of the horns. As a result of such changes, food intake is also significantly increased.
Median subspecies
Median shafodrags - the very first to appear among other subspecies. They are the most common on Saashinir's lands. They are most often colored in shades of gray, but not limited. Height is between 1.9-2.3 meters mostly.
South subspecies
South shafodrags - they are common in the southern regions. The color can vary from sandy yellow to tropical green. Height 1-4.1.7 meters mostly. Inhabitants of deserts, tropical forests, steppes, places of volcanic activity and other places with very hot temperatures.
Aquatic
Common traits:
- The neck tuft, as like as fur in general, is almost absent
- Size of the paws webbing - on the second phalanx of the fingers
- The skin color is closer to the cold colors
- There are many sharp-toothed comb-shaped fins with rigid rays pointing upwards, resembling a sail or a mohawk.
- Females have a broader physique
Shoal subspecies
Shoal shafodrags - inhabitants of coasts, reefs and other areas up to 5000-1000 meters below the surface of the water. They are not as large as the inhabitants of the depths, but the average shoal shafodrag will be taller than any of the terrestrial ones, since their height is 3-3.5 meters. Their bodies have little fur, mostly a small neck tuft. Their body structure is thin, but athletic.
Abyssal subspecies
Abyssal shafodrags - secretive giants, whose bodies have adapted to life at gigantic depths under enormous pressure, where rays of light from the surface are not able to break through. They are the largest among their relatives, reaching a height of 3.5-4 meters. Due to the scarcity of their diet, their jaws have been transformed - abyssal shafodrags have wide jaws filled with needle-like teeth in a couple of rows. In addition, they have a decoy that allows them to lure not too cautious inhabitants of the depths. As such, they have no wool. Their body structure is massive.
